I am an extremely outgoing and enthusiastic PT who takes a strong interest and passion about fitness. For the past 3 years I have been working full time at Ponds forge, I have seen, learned and experienced a lot of things from people who I have met and trained with. My vision is strongly towards success no matter what your goal is, I believe that you should never limit yourself or make up excuses. Just simply take a risk and put your full effort in and the outcome will always be a better you. Wether if you have failed or succeeded there is always a lesson what has been learnt for you to better yourself as an individual.
I started with the goal of being an example to my clients. Every single exercise, repetition, weight and duration I have endured myself. I know what it's like to feel tired, unmotivated and sore, this should not be a factor to stop you from achieving the goal what you really want. I am here to motivate you and help you succeed but most of all be your friend.
I am expert in Fat loss and Increasing lean mass, fortunately I have been able to meet legends in the industry such as Dorian Yates, CT Fletcher and Alice Matoss. From understanding their knowledge, it has helped better my mindset and further my expertise.
My approach to fitness is not only to benefit your goals but also to make it a lifestyle instead of a chore. With a combination of Strength training and HIIT, this has proven to be successful at producing results with the various clients whom I have worked with.
My aim is to ensure that you enjoy yourself, create a commitment and also work on your weaknesses thoroughly to truly get into shape and develop a stronger mindset. Working on things like these will help dramatically with everyday life. Remember “healthy mind, healthy body” this will involuntarily equal a happier and healthier you.

For the last eleven years I have been a member of Pond’s Forge International Sports Centre,Sheffield. During that period I have used the gym at least twice a week on a regular basis. As a registered blind person I need a fitness instructor to guide me to equipment and set it up.
In my eleven years using the facilities of the gym I can say that the many instructors who have assisted me have met my needs – some of course better than others.
Joe Patterson has been exceptional. In addition to guiding me round, he has taken a personal interest in my aim to keep fit and healthy. His professional knowledge and experience serve him well.
On his own initiative he has:
• Devised a training programme tailored to my personal needs. I am 81 years old.
• Encouraged me to try new exercises.
• Supervised and monitored my progress.
• Ensured my safety in the gym at all times.
Joe has a lively, friendly and caring personality Added to this his sense of humour enlivens our training sessions. For me he is a great asset.
I have therefore no hesitation whatsoever to recommend him as an excellent trainer.
I used to play football but after an injury, I lacked motivation and wasn't in the best shape. After a long time of not doing sport or any physical activity Joe put me in the right mind set to build up my confidence and try again. Since training with Joe I have seen huge changes in my physique and body composition. I have now got my strength and confidence back up and now I participate in a local team nearby.
Joe is extremely approachable and has a great knowledge of his field. Without the help and motivational push from Joe I would of never of joined the gym or started to play football again.
I met Joseph in March 2014 as part of a routine review of my fitness programme at SIV, Sheffield.
Joseph took time to talk to me about my fitness aspirations and gained an understanding of my short, medium and long term fitness goals. Joseph then routinely followed up on this programme by enquiring how I was finding the programme and if it was challenging enough. Since March 2014.
I have had appointments with Joseph regularly where he has made changes to my fitness programme so that I continued to build strength and to continue to stretch and challenge my capabilities.
I have found Joseph to the professional, courteous and patient while demonstrating a thorough knowledge of fitness, strength and conditioning. During my time working with Joseph I have stayed committed to my fitness programme which is amazing, as previously I have always failed, and I attribute the progress I have made in my weight loss and fitness journey to the support I have had fom Joseph.

I have trained my my entire life and was also an aerobics instructor for many years, so I feel I have a rounded view of the fitness industry as I have worked at many gyms and (now find myself being a member of a gym).
I am always pleased when I see Joe on the gym floor when I start my sessions as he is very well liked. On numerous occasions he has (bravely) corrected my technique as I love lifting heavy
weights, his approach is very professional and respectful so I have found myself accepting and appreciating his advice.
